Round 7 Brands Hatch Preview: The 50th Formula Ford Festival!

I have to admit, this is the most excited I've been for a race weekend in a long time, being on the support package for what looks to be a MASSIVE celebration of the Formula Ford Festivals 50th Anniversary!

I'm still struggling to believe that we are already at the end of October and the final round of the season is upon us. With 7 wins to my name, no matter what happens at Brands, this season has exceeded all expectations. Being fastest at one point or another at every circuit this year has been a really special feeling.

Brands for me is a very special circuit, after taking my first "win" in 2016 in a B race, thankfully, due to a lot of support from James and the team, I've gone from celebrating B race wins to out right wins.

Last years Brands Hatch event was a mixed bag of fortunes, having struggled all of Friday with the set up of the car, we miraculously turned things around for qualifying, before going into a very very wet race 1, and with some fairly substantial handling issues, I plummeted from 5th to 13th. However, with the issues found and changes made to the car, the 2nd race was far better than the 5th place finish showed, catching 3rd at over 1 second per lap.

Onto this year and after a crazy Donington weekend, I head to Brands fully prepared for the weekend, with the final 3 races of the season looking like they will be closer than ever.

We are back to the usual format for this weekend, with Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday, followed by Race 2 and 3 on the Sunday with all the action being shown live on YouTube and TSL via the links below:

The timetable for the weekend is as follows:

See you on the other side!

Jack
