Snetterton is the circuit where I competed in my first ever BRSCC Mx5 race back in 2016, its safe to say, I've been on quite the journey since then! With the circuit itself providing some huge stepping stones and all round great weekends for me.
Following 2 years of not visiting Snetterton, I returned to race there in 2019 off the back of my first ever podium at Anglesey, to then take 3 podium finishes in what felt like a real breakthrough weekend, only to better that on my next visit to the circuit last year, taking 2 victories and perhaps do one of the best qualifying laps I think I have ever done despite probably not having the quickest car on the grid at that point in time.
As for this season, Snetterton brings a true test of car and driver with both slow and high speed sections, making it the perfect venue to gauge how much progress we need to make, especially when it comes to the small subtleties of getting the absolute maximum out of the car, as I eventually learned with the mk1.
Whereas with Silverstone it was a case of making sure the car was reliable, Snetterton is a case of trying to push the car further and try and start finding a set up that works for me, whilst testing a few fixes we have for little niggles we had throughout the weekend, and with us visiting Snetterton twice this year, it will give us the perfect opportunity to gauge progress from this round to Snetterton Pt 2 later in the season.
You can follow all of my progress throughout the weekends races live once again on the BRSCC youtube channel as well as on TSL with it set to be another huge learning weekend. The session times for the weekend are as follows:
