This season is special for many reasons but the calendar for the Miata Trophy is definitely one of them! For this year there is a competition within the main championship... The Grand Prix Grand Slam!

The starting leg for the Grand Slam begins on April 6th at Silverstone, before we get the Brands Hatch GP and Donington Park GP to complete the hat-trick of Grand Prix circuits within the UK! This will be the first time I've ever been able to do all 3 in one season and I cannot wait to start at Silverstone.

Driving on the Silverstone GP is not too unfamiliar now, having raced there in both 2022 & 2023, whilst also completing a winter test day there at the start of the season, it is becoming a regular circuit to visit and one that I always enjoy driving at. However, the results would suggest otherwise as I have only raced there in the mk3, and back when we were really struggling to learn and get to grips with the car, a similar situation to now with the tyre issues.

Preparation for the race weekend has been a little more difficult this year as the test day for the race weekend is on the International circuit instead of the full GP circuit, which will make Sundays racing a bit of a step into the unknown for everyone, and we have made some changes on the car to try out on the Friday test day to try and get a better understanding on how to make this mk3 suit the way I drive. If we have gone the right way with set up then we could be sat in a good position come Sunday morning, if not then there will be a lot to do in a short period of time to find a good baseline.

The race weekend will follow the same format as last time out at Snetterton, however all the sessions will be on the Sunday this time, with Qualifying and 2 races through one action packed day! And if thats not enough, we may also sneak in a practice session early Sunday morning just to make the most of the day!

All the action can be followed via the MSVT Racing Youtube Channel and via TSL Live Timing with the links below:

See you on the other side
